The Innovation Competition is an exciting event where high school students get the chance to innovate in the field of technology, business, health, and more. Participants can work in teams to develop a product that advances knowledge. Each team, or individual, then creates a business plan to market and sell their product. This competition aims to inspire creativity, entrepreneurial skills, and a deeper understanding of health and other industries.
From September 25th 2024 to May 1st 2025
Eligibility: Open to all high school students in grades 9-12.
Team Composition: Individual or Teams of 2-5
(Teams recommended)
Project Requirements:
Contestant(s) must develop either:
- A physical product (recommended)
- A research paper
- A detailed plan to create a physical device if given the funding (For out of range projects).
Funding:
Some projects may gain funding upon approval.
Proposal Submission: Each team must submit a slide deck proposal outlining their product and a business plan, plus submitting videos of a physical device if created.
Evaluation Criteria: Projects will be sent to be judged based on innovation, feasibility, impact, and quality of the project. No presentation required.
Prizes: To be determined based on fundraising
(Most likely: 1st: $600 2nd: $400 3rd: $200)
*Cash prizes are given to the entire team, not each individual, but all individuals receive certificates and metals
Although any student can join, it is recommended for the team to be a part of an Innovation club so they can be more organized and follow a learning path.
Club: Your club leaders should have registered you for the competition, if not please inform them.
Independent: Create an Oria Foundations account and check in your team/yourself before April 1st 2025.
